Adam Bowers | Department of Mathematics | UC San Diego

Curriculum Vitae

I am an Associate Teaching Professor (LSOE) in the mathematics department at UC San Diego.

I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from Utah State University in December 1999, a master's degree in Mathematics from Utah State University in 2002, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut in August 2007. I have taught a wide range of mathematics courses, and have experience both as an instructor and a course coordinator. My research interests include functional analysis (linear and nonlinear), stochastic analysis, and the theory of Lie algebras (specifically applications to mathematical physics and differential geometry).

My Ph.D. was under the direction of Ron C. Blei and I spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow in the mathematics department at the University of Missouri at Columbia, studying under Nigel Kalton (memorial website).
