Subject: MATH20D_FA13_Bowers: Grades in Ted Date: December 16, 2013 8:05:52 AM PST Dear class, Grades for (most) students are posted in Ted. (If your grade does not yet appear, then it should appear in the next day or two.) Sincerely, Doc Bowers
Subject: WileyPlus Continued Access Date: December 11, 2013 7:50:57 PM PST Dear Math 20D Students, Now that the quarter has ended and the final exams have been taken, it is time to deactivate the WileyPlus component of your course. You will still be able to log into your account and view your scores, but you will not be able to access online resources such as the textbook or student solutions manual. ****If you would like to have continued access to these materials, then you can do so by using your SAME CODE to register for the "Math 20D Continued Access" WileyPlus course at the following URL: http://edugen.wileyplus.com/edugen/class/cls368545/ This will not cost you anything. The same code you used for your online homework will grant you access to this course, which will not have any homework, but will have the textbook and the other online resources. Sincerely, Adam Bowers, WileyPlus Coordinator

Subject: Math 20D Online Homework Survey Date: December 1, 2013 4:24:17 PM PST Dear Math 20D Students, You are receiving this email because your instructor used the WileyPlus online homework system this quarter. At this time, we would very much appreciate your feedback on the online homework system. Please follow the link below to complete a ten question survey about the online homework and the textbook used in this course. The survey is completely anonymous and has no effect on your course grade. https://www.surveymonkey.com/X/XXXXXXX [redacted] Your opinion counts and we will base our future homework and textbook decisions in part on the results of this survey. Thank you very much for your time. Sincerely, Adam Bowers, Math 20D Online Homework Administrator

The exam is Monday, Oct 21 during regular class time. You can find it listed on the course calendar here: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/20d/calendar.html The exam covers Sections 2.1 - 2.6, 3.1 - 3.4, which is everything we will have covered in class after this week. Subject: Correction to Piazza Link Date: September 28, 2013 3:45:56 PM PDT Dear class, I just noticed that I gave you the wrong link for the class Piazza page. The correct URL is: https://piazza.com/ucsd/fall2013/math20d The link I sent you by accident is also one you should be aware of. We did not talk about it in class yesterday, but there is also a MATLAB component to this course. Information about the MATLAB assignments can be found at the link I gave in the last email: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~math20d/ Sincerely, Adam Bowers
Subject: Math 20D Start of Quarter Date: September 28, 2013 3:30:07 PM PDT Dear Math 20D Class, We made it through the first day! Subject: Math 20D: First day of classes Date: September 26, 2013 7:56:24 AM PDT Dear Students, This email is to remind you that there are no Math 20D discussion sections today. Subject: Math 20D Fall 2013 Date: September 23, 2013 4:01:47 PM PDT Dear Students, You are receiving this email message because you are enrolled in Math 20D Lecture B at UCSD this Fall Quarter. *Math 20D Course Website* Everything you ever wanted to know about the course (and more) can be found on the course website: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/20d/index.html *First Day of Classes* Please be aware that there are no Math 20D discussion sections on Thursday, September 26. The first day of instruction will be Friday, September 27. Please see the course calendar for more information: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/20d/calendar.html *Textbook and Online Homework* The textbook for this course is "Elementary Differential Equations" (10th Edition), by Boyce and DiPrima (published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 2013). We will be using the publisher's online homework system called WileyPlus. For this reason, you must buy a copy of the book that has the WileyPLUS online homework code. If you buy your book at the UCSD bookstore, it will come bundled with the code. If you buy a used book, or an earlier edition of the book, then you will have to buy the code separately. This can become very expensive! NOTE: If you want ELECTRONIC ACCESS ONLY to the textbook, you can buy the WileyPLUS code separately. Then you do not need to buy a physical copy of the book. This is the cheapest option. (And you can have access for free for 14 days.) If you want electronic access only to the book, then register with WileyPlus using the link on this webpage: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/20d/wiley.html I hope everyone will have an enjoyable Fall Quarter. Sincerely, Adam Bowers
