Textbook Information
The required textbook for the course is Single Variable Calculus: Early Transcendentals (4rd Edition), by Jon Rogawski, Colin Adams, and Robert Franzosa; published by Macmillan Learning. (We will cover parts of Chapters 1-5 of the text. Math 20B covers Chapters 5-11.) You can buy a physical copy of the textbook in the UCSD Bookstore or you can buy ELECTRONIC ONLY access directly from WebAssign.
Exam Information
Exam 1: 25 Oct 2019 (Fri, 5-6pm) — Topics included are those from Sep 27 - Oct 21.
Exam 2: 22 Nov 2019 (Fri, 5-6pm) — The focus will be on topics from Oct 23 - Nov 18.
Final Exam: 07 Dec 2019 (SATURDAY, 3-6pm) — The final exam is cumulative and covers every topic from the course.
- You may use one 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of handwritten notes. You may use both sides. (No photocopies!)
- No calculators or electronic devices may be used during the examinations.
- Bring your student ID to the exams.
- Eating is not allowed during exams.

They may differ in form and content from the exams given this term. Working through these old exams may be helpful, but it is not a substitute for reviewing your notes, homework, and keeping up with the class on a daily basis. They are provided so that you can know what exams in this class will look like.
Exam Locations
The midterm exams are 5:00p - 6:00p (in the evening). The final exam is 3:00p-5:59p on Saturday, December 7, which is the first Saturday of Finals Week—the day immediately following the last day of class.
