Instructions for Math 142A Final Exam
- The final exam will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 3 - 6 PM, in PETER 102. Make sure you know where the exam room is located.
- Important. Have your student ID with you at all times.
- Important. Wear a face mask during the exam. At the end of the exam you will be asked to present your ID and lower the mask. If you do not want to lower your mask inside the exam room, you will have to wait in order to complete this procedure outdoors.
- There will be no pre-assigned seats.
- Important. Write your name and student ID on the top of each page.
- There will be an academic integrity pledge on the first page of your exam. Read and sign it.
Structure of the exam:
- The final exam will consist of two parts.
- During the first part you will have to state and prove theorems or lemmas from the list published on the course website. No notes or books will be allowed during the first part.
- For the second part, you may bring two 8.5 by 11 inch sheets of paper with handwritten notes (on both sides) with you; no other notes (or books) will be allowed.
- No calculators, phones, or other electronic devices will be allowed during the final examination.
- After the first part of the exam (50-55 minutes) you will hand in your solutions. There will be a 10 minute break. You will have time to take your hand-written notes. The second part will start at 4:10 PM. You will have 1 hour 50 minutes to write your solutions to the second part of the exam.
