People always say time is money. But up until very recently I don’t understand what is the real value of time. Attention is the cash value of time (— from Sam Harris). Everything is valuable only to the extent of how much attention you could pay to it. A piece of music is valuable only if you pay attention to listen. A famous painting is valuable only if you pay attention to look. Without attention, everything is meaningless. People have invented all kinds of things to save human labor, but if all the time that has been saved is only used to be thinking about miseries, I would rather prefer a laborious life. For yourself, it really does not matter what you do, but it matters how you do it.
