SOFTWARE GUIDE AND UNWRAPPING INSTRUCTIONS (THIS SOFTWARE IS FOR THE USE OF MATH 286 and MATH 294 STUDENTS AT UCSD ONLY) For all of this software you will need a copy of Mathematica 4.0. For the UNIX version, you will need access to C. For the Windows NT version (stosolve.tar.gz), you will also need Visual C++. PROGRAMS TO RUN ON UNIX ito.uue is a uuencoded version of the symbolic manipulation software (this is Wilfrid Kendall's software) ustosolve.uue is a uuencoded version of the simulation software for sdes (a combination of Mathematica notebooks with Jessica Gaines' C code for simulation of sde solutions -- the notebooks were written by David Glickenstein) You can unwrap these two programs using the following instructions on a UNIX system: 1. Save the appropriate file from the webpage to your UNIX account in the directory where you want to put the software. 2(a) To unwrap ito.uue execute the following commands: uudecode ito.uue gunzip ito.tar tar -xvf ito.tar The software will be in the directory Itovsn3 2(b) To unwrap ustosolve.uue execute the following commands: uudecode ustosolve.uue gunzip ustosolve.tar tar -xvf ustosolve.tar The software will be in the directory Stosolve PROGRAMS TO RUN ON WINDOWS NT The file stosolve.tar.gz is also on the web site -- this is a binary UNIX zipped and tared file of the simulation software for Windows NT machines (it seems to download fine, despite the fact that it is binary) To unwrap the software, first save it to a directory on your UNIX account. Then execute the following gunzip stosolve.tar tar -xvf stosolve.tar The software will then be in the directory Stosolve. You can then copy it to a Windows NT machine for use. Please let me know if you have trouble with or comments on these programs or the downloading of them. Use of this software is at your own risk.
