Course Description

This course will introduce basic stuff in matrix analysis from a computational perspective. Linear algebra, rational and Jordan forms, unitary and Hermitian matrices, matrix decompositions, perturbation of eigenvalues,
positive semidefinite matrices.

Prerequisite
- Basic training in linear algebra, or consent by the instructor.
Textbook
- The recommended textbook is
Matrix Analysis by Horn and Johnson.

There is a final exam, but no midterms.
Grading
-
The final course grade will be based on the performance
of completing homework assignments and final exam.

The homework assignments count 25% and the final exam counts 75%.
