Main lecture A00: MWF 11:00am–11:50am, zoom link will be accessed through canvas. The lectures will be recorded on the zoom cloud so that you can watch them later (zoom cloud keeps them 30 days).
We'll use canvas Canvas(http://canvas.ucsd.edu) for a lot of the day to day announcements, and for keeping track of the grades, etc.
We will be using Piazza for class discussion. The system is highly catered to getting you help fast and efficiently from classmates, the TA, and myself. Rather than emailing questions to the teaching staff, I encourage you to post your questions on Piazza. If you have any problems or feedback for the developers, email team@piazza.com.

Grades will be based on the percentages below. Curve will be applied if needed. The grading scale without a curve is the standard 90-80-70-60 (or more precisely with the +'s and -'s: 97-94-90-87-84-80-77-74-70-60), those grades you are guaranteed (i.e., 90 and above guarantees an A), but the curve may improve your grade.
Exam 1: Thursday, Jan 28th, online/gradescope.
Exam 2: Thursday, Feb 25th, online/gradescope. (On material since exam 1)
Quizzes: weekly, on gradescope. Lowest quiz score will be dropped.
Final Exam: Mar 15th, online/gradescope. (Comprehensive)
Homework: Weekly, webassign
How the grade is computed:
40% (Exam 1 and Exam 2 each 20%) + 40% (Final exam score) + 15% (Homework score) + 5% (quiz score)
Exam/Quiz Policies: Open book (the course textbook and your notes), but no internet use, no calculators, no software, and you must work on the exam/quiz on your own without help of others. Academic integrity is taken very seriously, especially in these online times.
