Computation of grade: The grade is computed from your scores in the final (40%), 2 midterms (20% each), the best 3 of 4 quizzes (15%) and homework (5%).Dates of exams:
Homeworks need to be turned in on 4/15, 5/6 and 6/3, of which selected problems will be graded. It is very important that you also do the homework problems if they need not be turned in as the quiz and most of the exam problems will be variations of homework problems.Quizzes: 4/9, 4/30, 5/14, 5/28

Preparation: Organize the material so that you know when to use which method. Do problems similar to homework problems in the book. For those who did not do very well in the quizzes or midterms: look at the problems and understand what you did wrong (some students who felt that they would have deserved more points in the midterms had not really understood what they had done wrong in their exams). Also, Imre has put the solutions of most homework problems on his webpage. Compare with your own work.
