We are currently hosting weekly teas for graduate students, postdocs, and faculty affiliated with UCSD. These are currently held in HSS 5009. Please email us if you would like to be added to our mailing list to get the times/dates!
We plan to host more events including the above teas, woman-to-woman socials, mentorship pairings, and more interviews/panels. Please email us to be added to our mailing list in order to receive more information about future events!
During 2021-2022: We hosted weekly teas, welcome events, various panels, colloquiua, interviews of professors, and quarterly picnics.
During 2020-2021: We held a few speed-friending social events for women in mathematics in addition to weekly teas. We also hosted a biweekly colloquium (and various panels) and set up mentorship pairings. For our old schedule, please click here.
In the 2019-2020 academic year: We held biweekly lunch discussions on topics such as mentorship, work-life-balance, and families. We hosted a woman-to-woman mixer and a tea during the graduate open house. We also held workshops on "How to be a good ally" and inclusive teaching (featuring guests from the Engaged Teaching Hub.)
As a small group, we currently cannot pair undergraduate women with a specific mentor, but we hope to answer questions through panels, specific information is below.

In the 2019-2020 Academic Year: we had a general panel of graduate student women and a social for undergraduates.
The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is a professional society whose mission is to encourage women and girls to study and have active careers in the mathematical sciences and to promote equal opportunity for and the equal treatment of women and girls in mathematics.
UCSD's chapter of AWM was re-established, after a four-year period of inactivity, by mathematics graduate students in September 2019 to promote diversity in mathematics at UCSD.
