Lecture 9: Continuity

In this video, we talk about what it means for a function to be continuous. Actually, we spend a lot of our time talking about how functions can fail to be continuous!

Prof David Eisenbud, Director of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, explains why every odd polynomial has at least one real zero. The proof is in essence an application of the Intermediate Value Theorem! (I did one example like it in the lecture video, but he keeps it more general.)
