Dear Math 20C Students,

The online homework system for Math 20C (WebWork) is now active. You can find instructions on the course webpage
for how to login to (and use) the system: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/20c/webwork.html

All homework is due on Saturday mornings at 5:00 AM (to avoid heavy traffic on the server). The first homework
assignments (including the Syllabus Quiz) are due at the end of Week 2. All homework assignments allow for
unlimited attempts, except for the Syllabus Quiz (which only allows one attempt per question). You may have the

at UCSD this quarter.

*Math 20C Course Website*
Everything you ever wanted to know about the course (including the course calendar and syllabus) can be found on the
course website: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/20c/index.html

*Textbook*
The required textbook for the course is **Vector Calculus** (6th Edition), by Marsden and Tromba. This is the same
book that is used in Math 20E. We will cover most of Chapters 1-5. Math 20E covers almost everything else in this
text.

*Piazza*
This quarter we will be using Piazza for all of our class discussion. You can post questions to classmates, TAs, and
instructors. You have already been registered for our Math 20C Piazza course. You can find our class page at:
https://piazza.com/ucsd/spring2015/math20c/home

*Online Homework*
This quarter we will be using an online homework system called WebWork. This service is provided free to students.
The homework system should be available by the end of this week. The first homework assignments will not be due
until the end of Week 2. (Sat, Apr 11 at 5:00 am.)

I hope everyone will have an enjoyable Spring Quarter!

Adam Bowers
