Dear Math 163 Students,

Regrade requests will be handled using the Gradescope regrade request system. The system will
be active from Friday, June 17 until Monday, June 20 and any changes will be implemented on the

change the grading rubric will not be considered.
Letter Grades have been posted to the TritonEd Grade Center. The "Math 163 Total" score (out of
100 points) has been computed according to the grading method outlined in the class syllabus
(http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/163/syllabus.html).
Sincerely,

Subject: MATH 163 - Bowers [SP16]: Math 163 History Paper
Date: May 23, 2016 at 10:51:05 AM PDT
As of today (Monday, May 23), you may submit your History Paper. This will be done using the
Turnitin system (via TritonEd). You have until Friday, May 27 at 5:00 pm to submit your paper.
If you submit your paper and then later wish to resubmit a new version, you may do so until
the due date.
NOTE: If your paper is submitted late, a penalty in the form of a 5% grade deduction will be
applied for each day after the deadline. (This penalty will be applied only to the paper itself,
not to your final course grade.)
UPLOAD REQUIREMENTS
1. Only one person from the group should submit the paper. (If more than one person submits
the paper, Turnitin will think you are plagiarizing each other.)
2. All group members must be listed on the cover of the paper. Include names and PIDs. Put
an asterisk (*) next to the name of the person submitting the paper.
3. The paper must be submitted as either an MS Word document or a PDF. (Those are the only
two formats Turnitin will accept.)
HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR PAPER
1. Log into TritonEd and click on the Math 163 link.
2. Click on "Content". The first item listed should be called "History Paper". Click on
"View/Complete". This will take you to Turnitin. There is only one assignment listed there:
"History Paper".
3. Click the "Submit" the button to go to the submission page. Then enter a title in the box
"Submission title", select "Choose from this computer", choose the file that you want to
submit, and select "Open".
4. Click the "Upload" button to upload the file, then click "Confirm" to finalize your
submission.
NOTE: Make sure to get confirmation that your paper was submitted. If you do not get
confirmation that your paper was submitted, then it likely was not submitted.
5. If you submit the wrong file by mistake, you may remove that submission and resubmit a new
paper, any time before the deadline, by clicking the "Resubmit" button.

Subject: MATH 163 - Bowers [SP16]: Math 163 Exam 1
Date: May 2, 2016 at 9:16:14 AM PDT
Dear Math 163 Students,
You should have received an email this morning from Gradescope (https://gradescope.com) with
instructions how to access your midterm exam and score. (You might have to check your spam
folder.) Your score has also been entered into TritonEd.
You should ignore the statistics that are given to you by Gradescope. The exams have been
separated into different categories in Gradescope, and as a result the statistics given are
based on incomplete information. The exam mean and median can be accessed through TritonEd
in the usual way.
Sincerely,
Ol' Doc Bowers
