Subject: WileyPlus Access
Date: June 14, 2014 10:44:18 AM PDT
Dear Students,
You are receiving this email because you took Math 10B during Winter Quarter 2014. Your purchase of a
WileyPlus access code entitles you to continued access to the online resources (such as the textbook and
student solutions manual) even when the course is over.
If you would like to have continued access to these materials, then you can do so by registering for the
Math 10 WileyPlus course called "Continued Access" at the following URL:
http://edugen.wileyplus.com/edugen/class/cls390109/
This will not cost you anything. The *same code* you used to sign up for Math 10B in the Winter will grant
you access to the "Continued Access" course. This course will not have any posted homework, but you will
have access to the online textbook and any other online resources (such as the student solutions manual).
Sincerely,
Adam Bowers,
Math 10 Coordinator

Subject: WileyPlus Access
Date: March 20, 2014 11:47:28 AM PDT
Dear Math 10B Students,
Now that the quarter is over, the WileyPlus course has been closed. This means you will no longer
be able to access online resources such as the textbook or student solutions manual. If you would
like to have continued access to these materials, then you can do so by using your SAME CODE to
register for one of the "Math 10C" WileyPlus courses via the following URL:
http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10c/wiley.html
This will not cost you anything. The same code you used to sign up for Math 10B will grant you
access to Math 10C.
If you are planning to take Math 10C during Spring Quarter 2014, we will again be using WileyPlus
for online homework. Be sure to register for the right instructor!
Sincerely,
Adam Bowers,
Math 10 Coordinator

Subject: Math 10B Homework
Date: February 24, 2014 7:32:26 PM PST
Dear Math 10B Students,
Because some students are still having technical difficulties with the online homework, Homework
Assignments 6-10 are now due WED 19 MARCH 2014, the day of the Final Exam, at 11:00 pm. You are
advised to complete the assignments according to the previous schedule, if possible, so as not to
fall behind. No students will be penalized for a WileyPlus technical fault.
If at any time you have difficulty accessing the online homework, or entering in your answers, you
must contact WileyPlus technical support using the button on your WileyPlus homepage. Otherwise
there is no record of the difficulty.
To reemphasize a statement from previous emails, the best way to prepare for exams is by doing the
suggested homework exercises listed on the class webpage here:
http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10b/homework.html
With very few exceptions, these exercises have answers in the back of the book, so you can compare
your answers with those given. If you have any homework questions, you are encouraged to ask your
questions in the course Piazza page: https://piazza.com/ucsd/winter2014/math10b/home

posted on the class webpage: http://math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10b/homework.html
With very few exceptions, these exercises have answers in the back of the book. You are strongly

Subject: Math 10B Winter 2014
Date: January 4, 2014 9:47:53 PM PST
Dear Students,
You are receiving this email message because you are waitlisted for one of the three Math 10B lectures at UCSD
this Winter Quarter. This is a coordinated course, so all Math 10B classes will have the same exams, homework,
syllabus, course calendar, etc.
*Math 10B Course Website*
Everything you ever wanted to know about the course, including the syllabus and course calendar, can be found
on the course website: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10b/index.html
*Textbook and Online Homework*
The textbook for this course is "Calculus", 6th edition, by Deborah Hughes-Hallett, et. al. (published by
John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 2013). We will be using the publisher's online homework system called WileyPlus.
IF YOU WERE ENROLLED IN 10A LAST QUARTER: the same WileyPlus code you used before will give you access to the
10B homework and resources. Follow the link for your Math 10B instructor here:
http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10b/wiley.html
OTHERWISE: If you were not in Math 10A last quarter, then you must buy a copy of the book that includes the
WileyPLUS online homework code. (You can get such a book at the UCSD bookstore.) Alternately, you may buy a
separate code which will give you ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO THE BOOK. To do that, follow the link for your Math 10B
instructor here: http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10b/wiley.html
Since you are not yet enrolled in the course, it might be a good idea for you to register for WileyPlus using
the "14 Day Grace Period". This will give you two weeks of WileyPlus for free. By the end of two weeks, you
should know if you made it into the course or not.
I hope everyone will have an enjoyable Winter Quarter.
Sincerely,
Adam Bowers
