Subject: WileyPlus Access
Date: June 14, 2014 10:42:53 AM PDT

Dear Students,

You are receiving this email because you took Math 10A during Fall Quarter 2013. Your purchase of a
WileyPlus access code entitles you to continued access to the online resources (such as the textbook and
student solutions manual) even when the course is over.

If you would like to have continued access to these materials, then you can do so by registering for the
Math 10 WileyPlus course called "Continued Access" at the following URL:

http://edugen.wileyplus.com/edugen/class/cls390109/

This will not cost you anything. The *same code* you used to sign up for Math 10A in the Fall will grant
you access to the "Continued Access" course. This course will not have any posted homework, but you will
have access to the online textbook and any other online resources (such as the student solutions manual).

Sincerely,
Adam Bowers,
Math 10 Coordinator

Subject: WileyPlus Access
Date: December 17, 2013 5:33:03 AM PST

Dear Math 10A Students,

Now that the quarter is over, the WileyPlus course has been closed. This means you will no longer be able to
access online resources such as the textbook or student solutions manual. If you would like to have continued
access to these materials, then you can do so by using your SAME CODE to register for one of the "Math 10B"
WileyPlus courses via the following URL:

http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10b/wiley.html

This will not cost you anything. The same code you used for your Math 10A will grant you access to Math 10B.

If you are planning to take Math 10B next quarter, we will again be using WileyPlus for online homework.
Be sure to register for the right instructor!

Sincerely,
Adam Bowers,
Math 10 Coordinator

Dear Math 10A Students,

Your opinion counts and we will base our future homework and textbook decisions in part on the results
of this survey. Thank you very much for your time.

Subject: Math 10A Start of Quarter
Date: September 28, 2013 3:42:05 PM PDT

Dear Math 10A Students,

We made it through the first day! Everything you need to know about the course you can find on the class
webpage: http://math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10a/index.html

The class website has a syllabus, course calendar, and links to all of the resources.

To register for WileyPlus (if you have not already done so), follow the link associated to your lecturer's
name on this page: http://math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10a/wiley.html

When you click on "Create Account", it will give you the option to register with a 14 day grace period. This
will give you two weeks to decide if you want to pay for the course or not. The first assignments are due at
the end of next week, so make sure you register right away!

This quarter, all Math 10A classes will be using Piazza as an additional resource. Piazza is an online
discussion forum that allows use of mathematical expressions. To register for our Piazza forum, click here:
https://piazza.com/ucsd/fall2013/math10a

I hope you all have a great Fall Quarter!

Sincerely,
Adam Bowers

Subject: Math 10A Fall 2013
Date: September 23, 2013 3:43:57 PM PDT

Dear Students,

You are receiving this email message because you are enrolled in Math 10A at UCSD this Fall Quarter.

*Math 10A Course Website*
Everything you ever wanted to know about the course can be found on the course website:
http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10a/index.html

*First Day of Classes*
Please be aware that there are no Math 10A discussion sections on Thursday, September 26. The first day of
instruction will be Friday, September 27. Please see the course calendar for more information:
http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10a/calendar.html

*Textbook and Online Homework*
The textbook for this course is "Calculus", 6th edition, by Deborah Hughes-Hallett, et. al. (published by
John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 2013).	We will be using the publisher's online homework system called WileyPlus.
For this reason, you must buy a copy of the book that has the WileyPLUS online homework code. If you buy your
book at the UCSD bookstore, it will come bundled with the code. If you buy a used book, or an earlier
edition of the book, then you will have to buy the code separately. This can become very expensive!

NOTE: If you want ELECTRONIC ACCESS ONLY, you can buy the WileyPLUS code separately. Then you do not need to
buy a physical copy of the book. This is the cheapest option. (And you can have access for free for 14 days.)
If you want electronic access only to the book, then register with WileyPlus using the appropriate link on
this webpage:
http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~abowers/10a/wiley.html
(Your electronic access will continue to be usable for Math 10B and Math 10C.)

I hope everyone will have an enjoyable Fall Quarter.

Sincerely,
Adam Bowers
